'Battlestar Galactica' Moves Forward with New Producers
It was first announced in 2014 that a new Battlestar Galactica film was in the works, to come from the creators of the original series, Glen Larson, and Transcendence screenwriter Jack Paglen.
Since then, not much has come about since Glen Larson's passing late that year. It now seems that the project is in good stead to happen, with three new producers attached.
Michael De Luca, Scott Stuber, and Dylan Clark will produce the sci-fi film, according to Variety. De Luca has a three-year first-look deal with the studio, which includes him producing the entirety of the Fifty Shades franchise.
The film has effectively been in development since 1999, but was put on the shelf when Syfy launched a 2003 miniseries. In 2010, a series titled Caprica aired, taking place 60 years before the events of Battlestar.
