'Game of Thrones' Alum Michelle Fairley to star in 'The White Princess'
Starz has announced that Michelle Fairley will play Margaret Beaufort in The White Princess, the upcoming follow-up to the critically acclaimed miniseries event The White Queen.
Jodie Comer also joins the cast as Princess Elizabeth of York. The series is adapted from Philippa Gregory's best-selling novel of the same name and is part of The Cousins' War book series.
The White Princess is the tale of England's War of the Roses from the perspective of the women. The 8-episode limited series will begin shooting in Bristol, England later this year.
Margaret Beaufort was Henry Tudor's mother and mastermind behind his ascent to the throne of England. She was a philanthropist, a benefactor for the Church, and a murderer. The character sounds driven and willing to do whatever it takes, a strong role for Fairley who is no stranger to playing stoic and hardy from her days on Game of Thrones.
