Kerry Washington will Produce Comedy 'Melting Potts' for ABC
ABC is developing a blended family, single camera comedy from Kerry Washington's Simpson Street production company and ABC Studios.
The series written by Ryan Jaffe (This Is Happening) focuses on a blended family made up of equal parts Indian, Muslim, Jewish, and New Jersey. It's about a newly married couple struggling to put together their vision for the "perfect American family."
Jaffe will produce the series alongside Sharla Sumpter Bridgett.
It will be interesting to see how this comedy does. ABC currently has a loaded stack of comedies with The Goldbergs, Black-ish, Last Man Standing, Modern Family, The Middle, and new comedy Speechless.
