Netflix Orders Two Seasons for 'Skylanders Academy'
Netflix is bolstering its animated output. Following their partnership with DreamWorks on Voltron: Legendary Defender, the streaming service will now team with Activision to bring Skylanders to the not-so-small screen.
Titled Skylanders Academy, the series will be produced in-house through Activision Blizzard Studios, with a two-season order with a premiere of this fall. The series will focus on a few marquee heroes training the next wave of Skylanders.
It will include the star of the first game, Spyro, voiced by Justin Long. Ashley Tisdale will voice Stealth Elf, and Jonathan Banks will lend his voice to Eruptor.
Activision Blizzard studios co-president Stacey Sher has regarded the new deal as "the beginning of a beautiful friendship," so expect more to come between the two companies.
