Peyton Reed's Ant-Man will feature some of Edgar Wright's visuals
A few months back the news broke that Edgar Wright had parted ways with Marvel on their Ant-Man movie. After the merry-go-round of who would succeed Wright, Peyton Reed (Yes Man and The Break-Up) was finally announced as his successor.
Since Reed's hiring, it's been wondered on numerous forums whether any of Wright original ideas and visuals would still be used. We know Marvel brought in numerous screenwriters (one being Anchorman director Adam McKay) to re-write certain aspects of the script, but nothing had been voiced as to how different any re-writes would be from the original Wright movie.
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, recently spoke with /Film whilst doing press for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, and cleared up a few of the rumours circulating, regarding Reed's vision for Ant-Man.
Feige told /Film; "It wasn’t the whole movie and there are new elements in the movie obviously, now, that Wright was not involved in. But there are some segments that are awesome and will be brought to life in some incarnation. Peyton Reed certainly has all that material and is a talented enough and a secure enough guy to notice if something is really cool and go 'No reason to change that, that’s great.' Or if he’s got his own spin on something to go and adapt it from there. "
It'll be interesting to find how different the movie is from the original idea set out by Wright when it hits theatres on the 17th July 2015. Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Evangeline Lill.
