The Punisher is coming to collect. Check out the teaser!
Frank Castle can break cement with the best of them...John Wick.
Spoiler - Netflix dropped the teaser for Jon Bernthal's The Punisher during a post-credit sequence for the season finale of The Defenders - which just debuted today.
All these things that I've done. Memories. They never hurt me
The teaser is brief but sells a glorious brand of vigilante justice you'd come to expect from the character first introduced in Netflix's Daredevil season 2. And though the flurry of penchant-fueled violence sorta confirms what we already know about the show's titular character, we are given a glimpse at a few sequences that appear to coincide with what Bernthal shared about The Punisher back at Comic-Con:
"I think with Frank and with the world that he’s very much involved in, he’s a soldier, so I think there will be very much a military component of the show, it will be somewhat centered on that… I think that [the] Frank Castle that was in Daredevil is not in Punisher.”
But the past. It's more than memories. It's the devil that you sold your soul to.
All 13 episodes will feature the unstoppable vigilante along with Daredevil's "Karen Page" (Deborah Ann Woll), Frank's best friend "Billy Russo" (Westworld's Ben Barnes) and former NSA agent and Castle ally "Micro" (The Last Ship's Ebon Moss-Bachrach). The series is created by Steven Lightfoot (Hannibal) and is based on Marvel's Punisher co-created by Gerry Conway and John Romita, Sr.
The Punisher is scheduled for release later this year. Check out the teaser and decide if this brand of vigilante justice is your thing.
