'True Blood' Alum Anna Paquin to Star in Netflix Miniseries 'Alias Grace'
Anna Paquin, with credits such as early X-Men films and HBO's True Blood, has been cast in Alias Grace, an upcoming miniseries co-produced by Netflix and the Canadian Broadcasting Company.
The series is based on the historical novel by Margaret Atwood. Paquin plays Nancy Montgomery, a victim of a famous 19th century double murder. The six-hour miniseries will follow Grace Marks (played by Sarah Gadon of 11.22.63 fame), a young Irish immigrant convicted of murdering her employer and his lover (Paquin) in northern Canda 1843.
Academy Award nominee Sarah Polley is writing, and directing is American Psycho's Mary Harron. Production kicks off this week.
