24 Reboot on its Way, titled 24: Legacy, New Cast to Join
The eight-season long series 24 was hugely popular during its lifespan, and that's a good enough reason for FOX to reboot it.
Over its air time, the series earned 73 Emmy nominations, and won the award for Outstanding Drama in 2006. In 2002, it scored two Golden Globes, including one for Best Drama.
A pilot for 24: Legacy has been ordered, set to reboot the entire franchise and bring a new cast of characters into the mix. The series will still incorporate its fast-paced, real-time, split-screen storytelling. See the official plot description below:
The project will revolve around a military hero’s return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back – compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
FOX CEO Dana Walden is looking to create a more diverse cast, and intends to have a female co-lead to share the screen with the military hero, named Eric Carter.
