27 Films Submitted for Best Animated Feature to the Upcoming Academy Awards
A record 27 animated films have been submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for consideration in this year's Oscars race.
These submissions are as follows: The Angry Birds Movie, April and the Extraordinary World, Bilal, Finding Dory, Ice Age: Collision Course, Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV, Kubo and the Two Strings, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Little Prince, Long Way North, Miss Hokusai, Moana, Monkey King: Hero is Back, Mune, Mustafa & the Magician, My Life as a Zucchini, Phantom Boy, The Red Turtle, Sausage Party, The Secret Life of Pets, Sing, Snowtime!, Storks, Trolls, 25 April, Your Name, and Zootopia.
Many of these have not yet completed the required Los Angeles qualifying run. They must comply to all qualifying rules before advancing to voting. Nominees will be announced on January 24, 2017.
