Synopsis:
In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a plan to assassinate Nazi leaders by a group of Jewish U.S. soldiers coincides with a theatre owner's vengeful plans for the same.
Venturing into the story of World War II was the setting for Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, which featured the debut role for actor Christoph Waltz. Plucked from out of nowhere by Tarantino back in 2009 to star in this war drama, Waltz was thrust into the limelight but hit the ground running. His portrayal of Col. Hans Landa is one of the best on-screen performances of the last 10 years and was not surprising that the Academy awarded him the Best Supporting Actor gong at the 82nd Academy Awards.
