67 Reasons not to Watch: Avengers: Infinity War Character Tally has been Clarified
Early reports from the Russo brothers claimed that Infinity War would feature 67 Marvel characters. Now, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have confirmed that number as correct.
But while the writers have confirmed that, obviously, "there’s not going to be 67 lead parts," the fact is that those storylines even in comics, which bring together entire universe's for massive earth-shattering brawls, are the least interesting stories you can create.
And in a 2-hour film, 67 characters is going to be a serious eye-sore. That's a lot of actors, which means a lot of work, and it means a lot of attention needs to be put into production. I daresay the Russo brothers are going to have their hands full just trying to make this film(s) distinguishable.
Whatever the case, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is due out on May 4, 2018. There could be one of two possible results from such an enormous undertaking. It will either drive Marvel fans crazy with anticipation and excitement when every possible beloved character appears on the screen, or it will kickstart the downfall of superhero stories when people realise they don't quite care enough about seeing countless costumed adults fighting aliens on the big screen.
