Actor Sean Harris Exits 'American Gods'
Bryan Fuller's American Gods is currently in its production phase, but it's now seen a departure. Sean Harris, set to play Mad Sweeney, a "down on his luck leprechaun who is having a hard time understanding how he lost his charm and way," has departed after a week of filming.
The actor cites personal reasons in order to return home, and the scenes he shot will be reshot once a new actor is cast. This suggests the character way well have a significant role in the series.
The production has also had to add a new DP, bringing Jo Willems into the fold. Reportedly, production has already fallen behind schedule just two weeks in, and director David Slade and Director of Photography Brendan Glavin supposedly couldn't see eye to eye.
Hopefully Willems is a better choice, hopefully they recast Harris quickly, and the series can get back on track. We certainly can't wait to see what the Neil Gaiman adaptation has in store.
