Alfonso Cuarón Sets Up His Next Film; 'Gravity' Director to Write and Direct Period Drama
Three years after Alfonso Cuaron wowed audiences with Gravity, and many years after he directed the beloved third part in the Harry Potter franchise, the director has set up his next project.
Partnering with Participant Media, the untitled project will be set in Mexico City during the 1970s. Via a press release, we've learned that the film will be focused on a family living in the city. Cuaron was born in the city and experienced adolescence through the 70s, so expect a very personal connection to the material.
Production is set to begin this fall. Nothing else is known at this point on the project, but we can expect more news soon given how close production is.
