Not that there was any doubt whether or not the 29 year-old Academy Award-winner possessed the physical abilities to transform into a full blown action hero. However, seeing is believing and the latest trailer for Vikander’s Tomb Raider has me wondering, where have you been all this time Alicia!?!
The latest chapter in Hollywood’s Tomb Raider saga will dial back Lara Croft’s story from the established ass-kicking archeologist previously portrayed by Angelina Jolie, to a 21 year-old soon-to-be ass-kicking adventurer whose origins lead her on a quest to find her missing father which leads her to fabled tomb in the Devil's Sea called "The Mother of Death." The second trailer plays to a fitting rendition of Destiny Child's 'Survivor', showcasing Vikander's fit and prowess defending the fate of (wo)mankind against a menacing organization led by baddie, Walton Goggins. Willing to wager just who prevails?
Tomb Raider hits theaters March 16 and is directed by Roar Uthaug and co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas and Daniel Wu.
