AMC Announces 'Better Call Saul' Season 3 and 'Into the Badlands' Season 2 Premiere Dates
During the TCA Press Tour, AMC has revealed the premiere dates for a handful of shows, most notably the return of Better Call Saul for its third season, and Into the Badlands for season 2.
Into the Badlands, the martial arts drama, will return on Sunday, March 19 at 10 PM ET/PT, and finds its main characters Sunny and M.K. separated and imprisoned in unlikely places. On their journey toward the Badlands, they are assisted by mysterious new allies whose motivations are unclear, while The Widow continues to gather power against the other Barons.
Upcoming premiering series The Son, based on the Philipp Meyer bestseller and starring Pierce Brosnan, will debut on Saturday, April 8 at 9 PM for a two-hour premiere.. It tells of a multi-generational family encompassing 150 years, three generations of the McCullough family. It traces the rise of Eli McCullough, the family patriarch, from a good-natured youth to a murderer on the wild frontier.
Meanwhile, Better Call Saul (which I think is one of the best shows on television) will premiere its third season on Monday, April 10 at 10 PM. It will continue to follow the twists and turns of Jimmy McGill as he falls further toward Saul Goodman, the persona he would take on in Breaking Bad. The second season ended with Jimmy's brother playing an elaborate con on his younger sibling, while Mike was stopped from murdering cartel boss Hector Salamanca by an ominous warning.
The new season will follow the fallout of Chuck's scheme, and its impact on Jimmy and Kim's relationship and law practices. Jimmy's moral compass is faltering by the minute, while Mike begins to search for the mysterious adversary who seems to know far too much. "As the season progresses, new characters are introduced and backstories are further illuminated with meaningful nods to the “Breaking Bad” universe."
