AMC Sees Ratings Records Break with 'The Night Manager'
The Night Manager has proven a massive victory for AMC. Having debuted on the U.S. channel on April 19, the series saw Live + 3 results of 1.6 million total viewers and 455,000 adults 18-49 and 554,000 among the 35-54 demo.
The numbers see a 70% rise in viewership over the Live + Same Day audience for the first episode, which was directed by Susanne Bier. This is an enormous jump, comparatively to Fear the Walking Dead's 33% rise from Same Day to Live + 3 Days, and Better Call Saul, which jumped 42%.
The series sees Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston starring in the seriesbased on John le Carre's 1993 novel of the same name. It's AMC's debut effort at slotting in original programming for a Tuesday night slot. Feed the Beast will take that slot once The Night Manager ends its run.
