AMC's 'Preacher' Adds Jackie Earle Haley as Series Villain
AMC's upcoming series based on Garth Ennis' comic book series Preacher adds a new, popular name to its solid cast, with Jackie Earle Haley set to play a villain against Dominic Cooper's leading Jesse Custer.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg had talked about making the character of Arseface more "palatable' for audiences, and he will be played by Ian Colletti. Haley will play the villain Odin Quincannon for a six-episode arc, described by THR as this:
“A small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in Annville County, Texas. The chief employer in town, Odin runs Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family run cattle slaughterhouse business.”
The character is known for acting in a pretty untoward manner, and some things may just need to be watered down for the casual audience. A recent critics sneak peak of the pilot however shows that the adaptation is not lacking in the areas the comic excelled at. Expect a hyper violent, confronting series, that's also quite contemplative.
