'American Crime Story' To Focus on the Monica Lewinsky Scandal in a Future Season
The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story was hands down one of the best shows of 2016, and while it's a shame to learn that the second season, Katrina, won't be airing this year, we can at least take comfort in knowing that there will be at least four seasons of the latest Ryan Murphy anthology series.
A future season for the series will focus in on one of the most infamous events of the 90s, that being the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. Given that Katrina will be followed up by a third season following the 1997 GIanni Versace murder, it looks likely that this latest project will come as season 4.
THR reports that Murphy and his producers have optioned the rights to Jeffrey Toobin's 2000 book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President. Toobin also wrote The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, that source material for season 1.
It will be some time before we see this come to our screens, but while Hurricane Katrina will debut in 2018, the network has said that the third season will come out within six months of that one ending. So, maybe 2019?
