American Horror Story Creator Teases Multiple Seasons in 2016
Creator Ryan Murphy told EW recently that the team behind the horror series are considering two seasons in 2016, rather than the industry-standard one.
The first season would potentially air in spring in advance of the series' standard October premiere date. No decision has yet been made regarding the option, so we should take the news with a grain of salt.
Considering the work that goes into a season of television, a two-season 2016 would be a monumental task, and could risk falling into the age-old crisis of 'quantity over quality'.
The idea, though, may have come from a new practice the show writers have been conducting, where season's are written by two writer's rooms. It's an unorthodox method, one that fans could attribute to their disappointment in recent seasons.
This disappointment comes despite last year's Freak Show being the most watched and most critically acclaimed season to date.
For now, we have until October 7 to wait for the next season, American Horror Story: Hotel, premiering on FX.
