'Amityville: The Awakening' Gets Another Delay
Amityville: The Awakening has been a long time coming. Originally scheduled for early 2015, the film has been pushed now from January 2017 to summer 2017.
The film will now release on June 30, 2017. It was shot in 2014, and initially slated for January 2, 2015. Each new shift just turns it more and more into some kind of weird joke. The Weinstein Company is insisting that June 2017 is "a strong showing of support," pitting it against Despicable Me 3 and the second weekend for Transformers: The Last Knight.
The film stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Throne, and Cameron Monaghan, and it will eventually reach theaters. Whether anyone will notice that it's in theaters is a whole other question.
