An 'Avatar' Video Game is in Development
James Cameron's Avatar films are still happening. With filming reportedly kicking off later this year, and with Disney World's The World of Avatar theme park opening in May, it's time to start reminding the world that the franchise is still alive. Now, we've learned that a new video game is in the works, from the developers of The Division.
Massive Entertainment is developing the game while Ubisoft is publishing, though details on the game are unclear. Avatar: The Game was released by Ubisoft in 2009, and was by all recounts terrible.
There's no release window, but presumably the game would work best as an open world one. We can also predict it will release close to the first sequel's arrival. For the time being, it's all speculation.
