Andrew Garfield Petitioned for Marvel-Spider-Man Team-up from Beginning
While doing press rounds for his new film '99 Homes', Andrew Garfield said to Uproxx that he attempted to pair Sony and Marvel up for some kind of corssover deal.
Garfieild states that he's been petitioning from the beginning, and so is "really glad they're finally doing it".
It's clear however that he may still be a little bitter or upset about how things ended, considering there were never any conversations with Marvel about him retaining the role.
"...all the ins and outs of what happened is a more tender conversation that maybe I don't want to talk about in public" Garfield said.
Marvel has chosen a new direction for the character, casting Tom Holland to appear in the next Captain America film, 'Civil War'. That film is in theaters May 6, 2016.
