Another of Neil Gaiman's Novels Gets an Adaptation, this Time to Radio
Neil Gaiman's Stardust is getting an adaptation at BBC for a radio drama. Previously, Neverwhere and Good Omens had received the radio adaptation treatment, and going off the success of that, there's more to come.
Dirk Maggs will direct the drama. Stardust has previously been adapted to the big screen back in 2007. That feature starred Claire Danes and Robert De Niro.
The story follows Tristan Thorn, who searches for a fallen star to gift to the woman he loves. When he finds it, he realises the star has turned into a beautiful lady named Yvaine who is now being hunted.
”Hypothetically speaking, if@BBCRadio4 happened to be adapting Stardust into a radio play, would you like to see a picture of the cast?” tweeted Gaiman, opting against subtlety.
Stardust will premiere later this year on the channel, taking the slot Good Omens previously held. Mathew Beard will play Tristan while Sophie Rundle will voice Yvaine.
