'Aquaman' Has Cast Villain Black Manta to Take on Jason Momoa
The Get Down actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast as the villain Black Manta in Jason Momoa and James Wan's Aquaman. The news is welcome, considering Patrick Wilson's recent casting as Aquaman's half brother Orm, AKA the Ocean Master. Some were skeptical of the exclusion of the famous villain.
Amber Heard also stars in the upcoming film, while Peter Safran produces. Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, and Rob Cowan are executive producing. Abdul-Mateen reportedly won the role from a shortlist that included Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes and 24: Legacy's Corey Hawkins.
