Aquaman Looks to Cast Amber Heard in Leading Lady Role
Aquaman will make his big screen birth in March with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After that and Justice League, which is set for 2017, the Jason Momoa-led hero will get his own solo film.
The movie is set for a 2018 release amongst DC's exhaustive list, and Warner Bros. is reportedly got its eye on The Danish Girl star Amber Heard to play Aquaman's wife and fellow crime fighter, Mera.
The character is described as the "eventual queen of atlantis," which suggests that the pair may not be a pair just yet in the film. However, Aquaman himself may not be the king of the sea just yet, so there's no promises being made.
Directed by James Wan (Fast and Furious 7), and two scripts are being written concurrently, by David Leslie Johnson and Kurt Johnstad. The film will be out JUly 27, 2018.
