'Aquaman' Pushed Back Two Months, Slots into 'Avatar 2' Vacated Release Date
In the wake of James Cameron delaying Avatar yet again, Warner Bros. has pushed next year's Aquaman solo film, directed by James Wan, to Christmas 2018. Originally slated for October 5, 2018, there'll be a slightly longer wait for fans eagerly anticipating what's shaped up so far to be the only drama-free DCEU film.
Warner Bros. has been quick to snap up the recently vacated holiday release slot. Industry analysts had predicted Disney may be looking to the December date for its Han Solo Star Wars film next year, though other reports suggest Disney want to coincide the release with the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope on May 22.
There is still an Untitled DC Film scheduled for July 27, 2018, though which of their projects that is would be anyone's guess. The Batman has hit its own lot of speed bumps, and The Flash finds itself without a director.
