'Archer' Moving to FXX for Season 8 and Beyond
Archer is being shifted from FX to its sister network FXX for its upcoming eighth season, which arrives in spring. The Emmy award-winning series has already been renewed, and will continue on through to season 10.
This move was announced back in 2015 for season seven of the series, but that never ended up happening. Instead, that season remained on FX, however it seems that the network was just delaying the inevitable. FXX has taken a comedy-centric angle, and Archer joins The Simpsons re-runs as well as the Animation Domination High-Def block.
“Archer is an awesome addition to the growing slate of original comedies on FXX, where it will join It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Man Seeking Woman and You’re the Worst,” said FX Networks COO Chuck Saftler. “Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and Floyd County continue to make one of the funniest shows on television, and it’s great to see them earn the awards and acclaim that comes with one of the most loyal and avid fan bases in the industry.”
