'Avatar 2' May Have an Official Release Date
20th Century Fox has been busy shifting its films around, and among them is what looks like an official release date for the long, long, (long) gestating sequel to Avatar.
The movie has now been given a December 21, 2018 release date, which lines up with the Christmas release dates that James Cameron himself alluded to some time ago. The franchise may be something akin to Peter Jackson's Middle Earth films, a blockbuster Christmas treat for fans of all kinds.
Two untitled Marvel films have also been shifted around, with November 2, 2018, and February 14, 2019, being new dates for some superhero action. An untitled film slated for October 6, 2017 has also been moved, replaced by the Kingsman sequel.
