Back-to-Back Box Office Victories for The Jungle Book
Disney's The Jungle Book, directed by Iron Man helmer Jon Favreau, has won its second box office weekend in a row, dropping 41% from its opening weekend to take another $60.8 million in North America.
In just ten days, the film has grossed $191.5 million domestically, and has a global total of $528.5 million. Its only challenger has been The Huntsman: Winter's War, which has seen an estimated gross of $20.8 million for the weekend. Mae on a $115 million production budget, the numbers aren't promising.
The Jungle Book has seen high praise come its way, proving just how a remake can manage to simultaneously offer something new while also taking advantage of an extremely popular tale and bringing it back for a new generation.
