'Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders' Getting a Sequel in 2017, William Shatner Cast as Villain

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Up next in DC and Warner Bros.' never-ending slate of animated feature films based on DC superheroes (or, more specifically, on Batman) is Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, a rewind to the 60's with Adam West and Burt Ward reprising their iconic roles as Batman and Robin.

But NYCC has brought to light development on a sequel, already, to the film, with William Shatner to voice Harvey Dent AKA Two Face in the film, titled Batman vs. Two Face.

The follow-up to the upcoming picture will arrive some time in 2017, and interestingly enough it will focus on a villain that never appeared in the 1966 television series (in contrast to the first film coming up, which features the Joker, Penguin, and the Riddler).

There was a Two Face episode written, but never made it to air due to behind-the-scenes conflict with writer Harlan Ellison and also due to Two Face's gruesome nature and appearance.

Hopefully, Return of the Caped Crusaders leaves us wanting more. Because, it seems, whether we like it or not, we're getting more regardless.
