'Batman v Superman' is the 7th Highest-Grossing Comic Book Movie Worldwide
Whether you're fond or hateful of Zack Snyder's DC universe launcher Batman v Superman, the fact can't be denied that the film has become the seventh highest grossing comic book movie in the world.
The film has a global accumulation of $862.9 million before inflation, and may reach $875 million by the time it finishes its run. The film sits just behind Spider-Man 3 with $235.1 million in North American ticket sales.
The film beats out Man of Steel by more than $200 million, though its title may have done plenty to help with that. As it stands, Batman v Superman isn't even close to Marvel's powerhouse performances across the board, critically and commercially.
Domestically, the film sits eleventh on the comic-book movie rankings, just behind Guardians of the Galaxy. Justice League promises bigger for the new universe, but not necessarily better. Still, many fans are hopeful that it will offer pay-off for Dawn of Justice.
