Ben Affleck's Batman Will Grace Screens Solo in Under Two Years
The hugely anticipated solo Batman picture is going to arrive in a year and a half, according to Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, who indicated as such during the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference.
During a discussion about the DCEU at Warner Bros., Bewkes was rather candid about the Batman film. “The reboot of Batman with Ben Affleck was a big success,” referring to the biggest crowd-pleasing aspect to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. “He’s going to be EP on Justice League and that’s helpful to that team.”
“Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he’s going to direct, star, write for - I think it’s a year and a half out. So, the strategy worked,” he said. It's surprising that Bewkes has dropped the news, and it reads as if perhaps it wasn't supposed to become common knowledge just yet.
A year and a half will sound short for some and long for others. But with Wonder Woman and Justice League coming out over the next thirteen months or so, there's plenty to look forward to.
