Best Direction: Long Shots
• John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks)
• Woody Allen (Blue Jasmine)
• J.C. Chandor (All Is Lost)
Never rule out the dark horses, although for Best Direction — Hancock, Allen and Chandor will all likely miss out. Hancock is an absolute outside bet, Allen's strong affinity with the Oscars may help him to some degree and Chandor's powerful film is worth noting.
