BFI Poll Names 'Carol' the Top LGBT Film of All Time
Over 100 film experts have cast their vote on the best LGBT film of all time, and David Haynes' Carol has been named top of its class, a title that's worth far more than a nomination given the competition it sees itself against.
BFI notes it as the "first major critical survey of LGBT films." Haynes said of the accolade, "I'm so proud to have Carol voted as the top LGBT film of all time in this poll launched for the Fest's 30th edition. Carol is in illustrious company with so many films I love, from Brokeback Mountain and Un Chant d'Amour to Happy Together and My Own Private Idaho."
Brokeback Mountain is listed at fourth, while David Lynch's Mulholland Dr. is tied for place 22. See the entire list here.
