Biopic 'The Glass Castle' Builds Stellar Cast Around Brie Larson
Newly minted as an Oscar winning actress, Brie Larson is lined up for her next project, one which revolves around the memoirs of Jeannette Walls. The film continues to build steam, adding stellar cast members to make this a film to keep our eyes on.
Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film, who previously worked with Larson on Short Term 12. The Glass Castle is described as a comedy drama that follows a successful young woman living in New York whose life is severely altered when her dysfunctional and non-conformist parents move to the Big Apple to be near to her.
THR reports that Larson's on-screen parents will be played by Naomi Watts, as the eccentric mother, and Woody Harrelson, described as an alcoholic.
The film comes from Lionsgate, with a script by Marti Noxon and a final draft being written by the aforementioned director and Andrew Lanham. Production begins in Montreal in June, so expect this to arrive some time late 2017, with possible Oscar-contention to come from it?
