'Birth of a Nation' Director Nate Parker Developing a New Film for Legendary Pictures
Before campaigning for Birth of a Nation, which is sure to take up a huge chunk of time during award season this year, Nate Parker has pitched a new film that's been acquired by Legendary Pictures. he will write, direct, and produce the picture.
No title or plot details are known at this stage. Birth of a Nation opened at Sundance Film Festival to enormous praise, leading to Fox Searchlight acquiring the film for $17.5 million.
Meanwhile, Legendary is working on acquiring the rights to a live-action Pokemon movie, so the studio is certainly not slouching about.
