'Breaking Bad' Star Bryan Cranston is "All In" for a Cameo in 'Better Call Saul'
Better Call Saul has featured a number of cameos from its parent series Breaking Bad, with Mike Ehhrmentraut and Tuco Salmanca being the main two. With Aaron Paul voicing his eagerness to cameo on the series in the past, Bryan Cranston has now opted for Walter White to make an appearance.
During an interview on the Rich Eisen Show, Cranston said “I owe Vince Gilligan so much. He was my champion to get [the Walter White] role. I was the guy coming off Malcolm in the Middle. If they were to call me and say, ‘We have this idea, we’d like … ,’ I would say, ‘Yes, you don’t have to finish the pitch. I’m there, what do you want me to do?’”
“I know how careful they are and proprietary they are with those characters and those storylines, and it wouldn’t be something, ‘Oh, isn’t that kind of a stunt casting kind of thing.’ It would be something kind of unique and obscure and creative, and I’m all in.”
While Vince Gilligan is the last man who will shoehorn fan-favourite characters in to boost ratings, there's no doubt that if the idea sprung to mind, Cranston may well get the call. No doubt, it would be an innocent appearance, but it would be one nevertheless.
