Brie Larson Sets 'Unicorn Store' as Her Directorial Debut
Brie Larson has been busy of late, gaining a solid following and working her way up with impressive work in Room and Short Term 12. With her casting in Captain Marvel and upcoming Warner Bros. picture Kong: Skull Island, she's not about to slow down.
In fact, she's taking the next big step, setting her directorial debut with Unicorn Store, a comedy that she will also star in and produce. The project follows Kit (Larson), who moves back in with her parents and receives a surprise invitation to the titular store that "tests her ideas of what it really means to grow up."
Samantha McIntyre penned the script, and at one stage had Rebel Wilson starring and Miguel Arteta at the helm, though time restraints prohibited it from ever taking off. Larson at the helm sounds like a fascinating idea, and it'll be interesting to see what she brings to the table.
