Captain America; Civil War pockets $25 Million on Thursday Night
The MCU certainly isn't tiring its fans out. The film debuted in North America on Thursday night, and pulled in an enormous $25 million, foreshadowing a big opening weekend.
Weekend projections have placed the film as fourth-highest domestic opener of all time, behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and The Avengers, and would take the spot of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The film holds a 92% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and has set a new record for advanced ticket sales on Fandango,. Positive word of mouth in the week since it debuted in many international markets last week will drive this film into some big numbers in the coming days and, no doubt, weeks.
