Captain America: Civil War to offer two Post Credits Scenes for its Theatrical Release
On Wednesday it was confirmed that two extra scenes will appear once credits commence for Captain America: Civil War. The second scene has been revealed thanks to a leak from European screenings of the film.
The mid-credits sequence will be a direct epilogue to the film, seemingly setting up a future one. The end-credits scene will be less related to the events that will have just unfolded, and should come as a surprise to audiences.
Marvel has a history of including post-credits scenes for their films, keeping fans in their seats after the final frame of the film. While it may seem gimmicky to some, it certainly seems to work, and has been a common practice since Iron Man revealed Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury introducing the Avengers Initiative.
