CBS Gives Season Order to 'Young Sheldon,' 'Big Bang' Spinoff Gets Jon Favreau to Direct Pilot
CBS has ordered a full season for its upcoming The Big Bang Theory spinoff, titled Young Sheldon, with the pilot to be directed and executive produced by Iron Man and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau.
Young Sheldon, created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, follows Iain Armitage as a nine year old Sheldon Cooper living in East Texas with his family and going to high school. The half-hour, single cam comedy will premiere in the upcoming 2017-18 season.
Also starring in Young Sheldon are Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan. Jim Parsons will also narrate the comedy as adult Sheldon. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.
