Christopher Lloyd Cast in '12 Monkeys' Season 3.
Christopher Lloyd is set to appear in the upcoming third season of SyFy's time travel series '12 Monkeys'. The veteran actor will guest star as Zalmon Shaw, the leader of the apocalyptic cult "Army of the 12 Monkeys". Shaw is also the father of the series main villain Pallid Man portrayed by Tom Noonan (Manhunter, Last Action Hero).
The 12 Monkeys series, which debuted in 2015 follows James Cole (Aaron Stanford) in his time-traveling quest to prevent the "Army of the 12 Monkeys" from destroying the world. Lloyd is, of course, no stranger to time travel. He portrayed Emmett 'Doc' Brown, the time traveling scientist and inventor in all three Back to the Future films.
Filming for season 3 will start this week in Toronto. Terry Matalas, the series co-creator and showrunner, will make his directorial debut for the season's premiere episode. 12 Monkeys is expected to premiere in 2017
