Crime Noir 'Under the Silver Lake' sees Andrew Garfield team with 'It Follows' Director
According to THR, Andrew Garfield is set to star in director David Robert Mitchell's next film. Mitchell broke out with last year's immensely popular horror pic It Follows.
Michael is writing the project, titled Under the Silver Lake, and the story is described as a modern-day noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles. Noir is a little-seen style of film these days, and it certainly sounds intriguing.
Michael De Luca is producing alongside Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Adele Romanski. Production is aiming for commencement at the end of summer. No other plot details are known at this point, and no studio has given the project a home just yet.Given the talent now on board though, it seems like it'll be sooner rather than later.
Garfield has kept busy since departing the short-lived Spider-Man franchise, starring in Martin Scorcese's 17th century spiritual drama Silence (which hopefully sees a release date this year), and wrapping filming on Mel Gibson's highly anticipated WWII drama Hacksaw Ridge.
