Disney Channel Celebrates Milestone this Memorial Day Weekend!
Disney Channel is putting on a massive marathon in honor of having over 100 original movies. The 100th movie Adventures in Babysitting will premiere June 24th on Disney Channel. This marathon includes favorites like Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off, Smart-House, Luck of the Irish, and the phenomenon known as High School Musical.
'Alice Through The Looking Glass' Premiered Yesterday
Alice Through The Looking Glass premiered yesterday and critics are hammering it! Saying the material is fluff with no substance. Could this film be the end to Disney's recent box office tear? What if it ends Disney's new formula of bringing classics to the big screen? I haven't seen this film yet so I won't judge it until I have seen it. The initial reviews are baffling though.

'Frozen' Star Idina Menzel "On Board for Elsa Being A Lesbian"
Over the past couple of weeks countless of fans have campaigned on Twitter to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend. A couple weeks ago on Saturday Night Live, Weekend Update Anchor Colin Jost talked on the matter saying this, "Some fans of the movie Frozen have launched a hashtag campaign to get Disney to turn the character Elsa into a lesbian while other fans have already done that up here (points to head)" Disney most likely won't go through with this due to one big reason. Elsa has already been established as a character that doesn't need a love interest to make her happy. All she needs is her family. All that could change though with Idina Menzel on board with this hashtag campaign.
Captain America Has Always Been Evil…. Yeah Okay Marvel...
Earlier this week it was revealed in the new Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 that Captain America has been a secret agent for Hydra for 75 years. Let that sink in. Hydra is a Nazi like organization for Marvel. So why would a symbol of American pride become a Nazi-like figure. We have no clue… No one does! The move has been criticized by everyone, even Captain America himself Chris Evans.
'Little Mermaid' Live Action Film in the Works?
Disney has been using a new formula which I have written about multiple times on Cultjer. Taking classic animated films and turning them into live action takes. Due to the success of Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book, Disney is pushing for more live action adaptions. Universal at the same time is creating a Little Mermaid film with Chloë Grace Moretz and the storyline following the original novel written by Hans-Christian Anderson. Rebecca Thomas is set to direct the film. Disney's The Little Mermaid doesn't have a release date yet.
'Beauty and The Beast' Trailer Was Released This Week To A Stellar Reaction
The trailer has passed Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Captain America: Civil War in views.
