CW Developing Female Sportscaster Series from Olivia Munn
Set in 1974, the as yet untitled series comes from executive producer Olivia Munn, and will revolve around a young journalist hired by an ambitious New York news programming chief.
Her job is intended as a publicity stunt, as the young woman is intended as one of the first female on-air sports reporters.
The unnamed character will have to work her way through gender politics during a difficult period in which women were denied entrance even inside a press box.
Munn is a former sideline reporter, and the series comes from writer Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife).
Stacia Peters will also be on board as executive producer, and has herself worked on HBO's The Newsroom (on which Munn has starred). This will be Munn's first dive into producing.
