Dane Cook joins 'American Gods' as Robbie
Dane Cook is the latest to be cast in Starz's American Gods adaptation, from the award-winning pages of Neil Gaiman. Cook is lined up to play Robbie, the best friend of series protagonist Shadow Moon (played by Ricky Whittle).
Robbie promises to hold onto a job for Shadow after the latter goes to jail. The character is married to Shadow's wife's best friend, and comforts Laura while Shadow is in prison .
The series chronicles the new gods of modern technology and trends as they attempt to replace the old ones, with Shadow caught in the middle when he takes a job as a bodyguard for Mr. Wednesday, who is played by Ian McShane.
There's a good chance we'll get some footage at comic-con, though the series is not set to debut until 2017.
