Daniel Craig Will No Longer be Bond, Mark Strong Suggests
Last year saw Craig's fourth Bond film arrive, and with it a marketing campaign during which the actor was vocally tired of the character. Now, fellow actor and close friend Mark Strong (kingsman) has alluded that Craig's Bond will not be seen again.
Godfather to Craig's eldest son, there is no question that he may have inside knowledge regarding the actor's future. In an interview at Shortlist, it was suggested Strong would make a great villain in a Bond film.
His response: "Do you know what, I'd have loved to have played the villain in a Bond movie while Daniel was doing it because he's a pal and that would have been great. But I think he's come to the end of his Bond time and so it's probably never going to happen. But that would have always been great."
His response is certainly no definite, given that "I think" are the key words. When Strong was asked if he could influence Bond to play the role one more time, the actor said "Well, I will try, believe me, I will do my best. But there are powers at work greater than us who make all these decisions."
If by powers greater he means the studio, then it may come down to how much they're willing to put on the table. It's a money industry, after all.
