Daniel Day-Lewis
Yes, it's coming up to nearly two years since we last saw Daniel Day-Lewis grace our screens, but we all know this guy is one of those rare breeds of actor. So how could he not be on this list?
His last on-screen role was Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's, Lincoln (2012). That role landed Day-Lewis the distinct honour of becoming the only actor in the history of cinema to win three Academy Awards for Best Actor (Lincoln; There Will Be Blood; My Left Foot).
Notoriously known for picking his roles very carefully, Day-Lewis has delivered some of the most memorable performances film has ever seen. Who can forget him ripping away at our subconscious with his performance in Paul Thomas Anderson's, There Will Be Blood (2007). This guy is special.
Last 5 roles;
"Abraham Lincoln" in Lincoln (2012)
"Guido Contini" in Nine (2009)
"Daniel Plainview" in There Will Be Blood (2007)
"Jack Slavin" in The Ballard of Jack and Rose (2005)
"Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting" in Gangs of New York (2002)
