Data indicates U.S. Millennials watch Netflix more than Broadcast TV hits
The top four series from the fall TV season in the 18-24 age demographic of U.S. viewers all came from Netflix, according to data gathered from audience measurement firm Symphony Advanced Media.
Making a Murderer, Master of None, F is for Family, and Marvel's Jessica Jones all dominated the choices in the demographic, with Fox's Bob's Burgers and Family Guy in fifth and sixth place.
The data was gathered from September 21 to January 31. Making a Murderer also topped the 25-34 demo as the top fall-season program, and third in the 35-54 category.
That said, the older demo preferred broadcast options, with nine of its top 10 series coming from ABC, CBS, Fox, or NBC.
It seems, as the data indicates, that Millennial behaviour is seemingly driving Netflix's dominance, or at least the trend that's pushing the streaming service ahead of the pack.
