David Ayer has the final say on what those 'Suicide Squad' Reshoots are really all about
Suicide Squad has undergone some reportedly extensive and expensive reshoots, and early reports claimed this was in order to add more humour to the pic. While reshoots aren't bad or uncommon, a fuss was made over what it could mean for the film.
I personally had some concerns myself, given the nature of the rumours. But now the director has taken to Twitter to give his verdict on what the reshoots are all about.
#SuicideSquad “reshoots for humor” is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction

The hard part is knowing much we can take as truth from his comments. Though it's hard to believe that humour is a necessary addition, executive power may have been exercised in the way of Batman v Superman. The studio is now relying on Suicide Squad, remarkably, to truly push some enthusiasm back in the DC universe's direction.
And it's hard to see a time in which we will be sure of whether Ayer is lying or being truthful, unless someone outright confirms one way or another after the film is released. For now, we'll just have to wait until August 5. The most important thing here is that it's a good film, right?
